Haunted Houses

Unlucky Inn: You may check in, but you will never check out! The Un-Lucky Inn will be open every Friday and Saturday starting October 1st and continuing through October 30th.

Blood Lake: Explore the haunted halls of the Blood Lake Home for Orphans, and discover for yourself what happened to the unfortunate children who inhabited its treacherous confines so many years ago. Ghost-children say the darndest things!

Scream Forest is an intense walking adventure. They put you on a wagon...take you out to the woods...leave you...on foot with nothing between you and the creatures of the night...where no one cares if you Scream! Escape from the forest and you'll find Bedlam House - a haunted house full of surprises.

Weaver's Haunted Woods: ONLY FOR THE STRONG AT HEART We do have a chicken coop for those who are chicken! See you soon for a frighteningly good time .

Spirited Past of Manassas: Stroll through the streets of Old Town Manassas by lantern light with a costumed interpreter and hear some haunting but true stories about the town's past, with a special emphasis on Civil War history.

Natalie Zanin's Historic Strolls: The Ghost Story Tour of Washington. Hear stories and meet spirits at Lafayette Square Park, across from the White House.

The Most Haunted Houses: Lafayette Square Park is known as the most haunted site in Washington, DC. Take a two hour walking ghost tour with Washington Walks, one of DC's premier walking tour companies and learn about the spirits of the nation's capital.

Spirited Past of Manassas: Stroll through the streets of Old Town Manassas by lantern light with a costumed interpreter and hear some haunting but true stories about the town's past, with a special emphasis on Civil War history.

Oatlands Paranormal Tours: Our tour guides will share exciting ghost legends and personal tales of unexplained happenings on the property. Guests will also learn about the findings of the ongoing paranormal investigations at Oatlands. This is a fun tour that is suitable for children about 8 or older.

Walk among the shadow dwellers on a Haunts of Richmond Ghost Tour. Choose our Shadows of Shockoe or Haunted Capitol Hill tour. Your Ghost Host will guide you on a fascinating exploration of Richmond's oldest and most haunted neighborhoods. Hear tales of trauma and tragedy at or near the sites where paranormal activity has been reported.

EERIE NIGHTS Ghost Tours of Richmond: There are no cheery guides to greet you here, instead we offer you our "Ghoul Guides," a group of the walking dead doomed to haunt the streets of Richmond and tell you all about its tragic past. We mesh haunt gore with history. Our tours are for mature audiences, but families are welcome! Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Wicked Woods Hauted Forest: Join the museum for this special Halloween event, fresh on the heels of our recent Ghost Hunters appearance. Visitors will take a candlelight tour of the museum. Tours will highlight the ghost stories and creepy history of the Lee-Fendall House.

It's the Original Ghost and Graveyard Tour with a twist! You'll visit the rooms where restless spirits hover. You'll follow your colonial-costumed guide through the eerie streets, visit a cemetery, and enter one of the most haunted buildings in Old Town.



Trick-orTreating

Old Towne Warrenton Halloween Parade: Dress the kids in costume and come out to enjoy this year's Halloween Parade down Main Street. Afterwards, the kids can trick or treat down Main Street as shop-owners provide Halloween treats.

Boo at the Zoo: Boo at the Zoo is the wildest trick-or-treat in town! Princesses, superheroes, kid-wizards, and other costumed guests are invited to join us at the 12th annual Boo at the Zoo. There's no safer or more exciting way for families with children ages two to 12 to enjoy Halloween. Get ready for tasty candy, delicious snack foods, and other special treats from more than 40 treat stations. Plus, animal encounters, keeper talks, and festive decorations are yours to enjoy.



Other Scary Activities

Fields of Fear: Over 20 acres of Cox Farms becomes a scary night-time adventure! Cornightmare (walk through cornfield terrors), "Dark Side" Hayride, "The Firegrounds/Midway" bonfires and a giant torchlit slide, Autopsy Table, Haunted Library, Back From the Dead, Hall of Whispers, and Claustrophobia. Also enjoy Food, Snacks, Games, Prizes, Haunt Gear, Shopping, and Entertainment. Not Recommended for children under 12 years old. All under age 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Air and Scare: Discover the spooky side of air and space at the Udvar-Hazy Center's sixth annual Air and Scare! Arrive in costume for safe indoor trick-or-treating. Participate in creepy crafts, spooky science experiments, and other Halloween-themed activities.

Kennedy Center's Spooky Sounds and Scary Tales: Where do vampires, werewolves, and mummies hide out during the day?On this day, they're hiding behind their instruments on the Concert Hall stage. Keep the Halloween costume party going and come dressed in your spookiest get-up for this "spirited" Sunday afternoon concert event. Conductor Brad Lubman and the NSO will be wearing their own trick-or-treat outfits as they perform Steven Reineke's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow with narrator Lynda Carter and music from other scary tales. It's guaranteed to be a ghoulish good time! For age 5 and up.

Come early for the Musical Instrument "Petting Zoo." An hour before each NSO Family Concert, young concertgoers can get up close and hands-on with the instruments they'll see played on the stage--from violins, trumpets, and oboes to trombones and percussion--in the Kennedy Center Atrium. A project of the Women's Committee for the NSO.

Stay after the 3 p.m. concerts for a Kids' Chat. Following the 3 p.m. concert, young audience members can ask questions and hear engaging stories in an up-close-and-personal talk with the concert artists.

Pumpkin Glow Night: This spectacular display of over 1500 carved and lit jack-o-lanterns is simply amazing. The magical moment when we cut the lights will take your breath away! Bring your carved Jack-o-lantern to enter in our carving competitions. Jack-o-lanterns are judged for Best in Glow, Scariest and Funniest

King's Dominion Halloween Haunt: Beginning September 25, as dusk settles over cheery grounds of Kings Dominion, the atmos-fear will change as shrieks and screams signal that Haunt is coming to life. Haunt will take place on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays through October 31.
